The bright lights of the ring are calling the light middleweights

Promoters Matchroom Sport have assembled the usual mix of former champions, unbeaten novices and up and coming stars of the future for the latest Prizefighter competition, which will feature the Light-Middleweights.

The event at the York Hall on 15th September will feature the former WBU welterweight and light-middleweight champion Takaloo as well as Steve Harkin, who was given a place in the showdown after fans started a campaign on social networking site Twitter. The 29-year old from Liverpool, who has 5 wins from his 8 fights became the seventh member of the contest, with his opponent yet to be named.

One of the three unbeaten fighters to battle it out for the £32,000 prize is Peter Vaughan, who was on the undercard for the Tyson Fury-Dereck Chisora fight at Wembley Arena, where he beat Phill Fury on a unanimous points decision.

Wayne Goddard, who is currently 9-0, and Kris Agyei-Due are the other unbeaten men who will take to the ring, and a man who knows York Hall like the back of his hand, having had all of his professional fights at the venue, Daniel Herdman will be there as well.

The draw will be made on the night, inside the ring, to keep the excitement going right up until the first bell, with fighters being given little time to prepare for their opponent, instead having to trust their own ability in order to win the £32,000 prize.
